Mark most recently worked for the State Government’s Small Business Development Corporation and was instrumental in the transformation of the 21-year old Small Business Centres Program into the new Business Local service, providing high quality business advisory services to small businesses across the State.  He has successfully navigated the transition into the new outcomes focused service, ensuring that small businesses continue to receive free, quality and unbiased business advice no matter where they are located in WA.

Mark has also worked within the Aboriginal business development environment, having strategic management of the Western Australian Aboriginal Business Directory.

Desiree has over twenty years experience in community, social and economic development, working with inherent capacities of local communities to grow social capital.   With a strong background in community based research, program/project management, creating sustainable partnerships she has worked collaboratively with a wide range of professionals to create community/economic development initiatives and social enterprises aimed to achieve sustainable social/economic growth.  Desiree spent much time as a human rights and social justice advocate, later as a consultant completing community based social research projects with a focus on peoples social/economic mobility and other such areas as strategic & business planning, building capacity, regulatory frameworks, policy and procedures.   She is a published and award winning writer.

After completing Year 12 at high school, Jenny worked in the banking industry for four years before leaving to start a family. Jenny worked in retail, on a casual basis, while studying for a teaching degree. Upon completion of her degree, Jenny worked for the Department of Education in country and city postings as a primary school teacher for over 20 years.
Jenny has also worked for State and Federal members of Parliament as an electorate officer for six years prior to joining Business Station as a Project Administrator.
