In partnership with City of South Perth, this workshop is intended for small businesses located in the City of South Perth.

Turn imagination into a finished design in minutes using Canva to design from scratch – without a degree or design experience.

Join this hand on interactive workshop where you’ll learn how to create awesome visuals to rock your business marketing or even create a design for a fun family project.

We’ll start with a complete live walk-through where you’ll learn:

• Types of content you can create
• Super quick and easy tips to make your designs look appealing and on brand
• How to choose the dimensions for your design
• How to create a background for your design
• How to add text, images, music and video and gifs
• How to use elements, tools, layout, templates
• How to upload your own imagery
• How to repurpose content
• How to download and print
• Compare free vs paid version
• Plus Marianne’s secret sauce and so much more

We will have time after the demo to apply your learnings and start creating.

Please bring your fully charged laptop (not a tablet or phone) and consider using an external mouse for ease of moving around the canvas.

about the presenter

Marianne is a Canva Expert, Certified Trainer, Marketing Strategist & Social Media Educator specialising in Reputation, Digital Communication, Branding and Visual Imagery.

With an international corporate background and for the past 15 years as a small business owner herself, Marianne understands the needs of establishing a solid foundation and the importance of building a support network and community. Since launching her Facebook Bootcamp in 2010, Marianne has battled cancer (and won!) and continues to work with business large & small, Government, NFPs, schools, professionals, models and performers. Armed with a diverse skillset, she will review individual circumstances and adapt training to suit.

Marianne is one of the original group of Canva beta testers worldwide and uses the app extensively for her business, local and international community livelihood projects, designing for clients and training. Marianne adores Canva and is well placed to show you how to turn your ideas into creative, stylish designs showcasing your expertise that will have you singing your brand message and showcasing your talent 24/7.

Marianne’s strength and passion has always been helping others to shine, long before social media was even a thing! In her ‘spare’ time, Marianne manages her muso husband and their daughter’s acting and modelling career. A former musical theatre actor, singer and international event organiser and host, Marianne is comfortable on stage/TV/ radio and has been the editor of a number of magazines.

Always learning and growing, Marianne continues to upskill taking courses and through close association with social media marketing experts worldwide, which also lead her to being the only West Australian to have been on staff at Social Media Marketing World, the largest social media conference on the planet.

She is co-host of #LinkedInLocalPerth and WA Ambassador, Women’s Network Australia.
