Selling physical products online for microbusinesses & stallholders

Online Workshop
Presented by Jo Minney

Selling physical products - whether made, imported or manufactured, has always come with its own set of challenges. One of the simplest and most accessible ways to sell physical products has always been via markets, but the pandemic has made relying on market stalls and other in-person sales channels a risky business.

Fortunately, for most product-based microbusinesses, there is a simple, cheap (or even free) solution that can get you up and running with an online store in just a few hours - using resources you probably already have available!

In this two hour workshop website designer, developer and strategist Jo Minney will show you how you can use Square’s free website builder to start selling your products online. In this workshop we’ll cover:

- What you need to get started
- Options for using your own custom domain
- The Pros & Cons of the Square Website Builder
- How to get started setting up your website
- How to get your products found online

about the presenter

Jo Minney is passionate about helping business owners of all shapes and sizes find digital solutions that meet their needs. She runs a boutique web agency (House Digital) specialising in custom web design and digital strategy. She also works closely with partner agencies IT House and Devhouse consulting on software training and integration.

Prior to starting her own business, Jo worked in corporate-land with a background in data analytics, reporting and software development. She now uses those skills to help business owners make decisions about their online strategy based on facts and data, to help them achieve their goals.

Jo loves giving back and outside of her own business and consulting for the Business Station, she also runs the Perth WordPress Meetup, Perth WordPress Community, and next year, Perth’s first ever WordCamp. She has travelled interstate and internationally to present at various WordPress conferences. You could say she’s sort of a fan of WordPress, which is the platform 90% of the sites House Digital builds are based on.

Jo also volunteers a bunch of her time with Perth {Web} Girls, a not-for-profit organisation that runs free programming workshops and meetups aiming to increase diversity in the tech community by empowering women of all ages to learn to code. She has travelled all over WA delivering workshops in Perth, Bunbury, Yanchep, Geraldton, Port Hedland, Karratha and Newman.

Jo has been running her website strategy workshops for several years privately and is very excited to now be able to deliver them to the greater business community. She’s also an Excel guru and has been delivering training on Microsoft Excel for several years through Business EXCELerator. Book a one-to-one session with Jo if you need help with website planning, digital strategy (how all the parts fit together), email, data security/privacy, data analytics, Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc) or finding the right online tool to run your business.
