Successful Side Hustling and the Entrepreneur-Employee Continuum

Presented by Tristan Senycia

Sometimes taking a new business idea directly to market as a startup isn't the best approach.

The traditional pure-play startup approach can result in founders getting marooned as the market shifts unpredictably and uncontrollably.

In this session, we run through an example that flies in the face of conventional entrepreneurial wisdom and leverages employment and/or contracting to build capability, inside knowledge (soft IP), market access & market alignment.

We will take you through the steps necessary to successfully navigate the entrepreneur-employee spectrum. Including:
- Adopting a much lighter weight business model
- Entering market as an individual rather than a 'company'
- Getting paid to learn how to run your new business
- Ratcheting through different customer segments as you increasingly commercialise your service or product business.

We will also go through the mindset shifts and new ways of thinking required for this less bold, less risky new approach to market entry!
