Business owner Amanda Willie said she wasn’t very technical prior to engaging with the Digital Solutions program which was challenging as social media was the main way she advertised her business and is crucial for her business growth.
Utilising the program’s one on one advisory Amanda worked with advisor Liam Fahey from Lad Social and now feels more confident using the social media platforms. “He explained a lot more about the social media side of it and how to get the most out of it. Like boosting a post, and to target it around a 2km radius in the university. I learned how to market to specific audiences” Amanda said.
Amanda said what she liked most about using the Digital Solutions is how accessible the program is and that she now feels comfortable knowing how to promote her business on social media.
“Liam explained things in plain language. I’m 49, I had my daughter sit with me while he explained things in easy to understand, he was great and we both enjoyed the afternoon. He was very friendly and approachable. He has been in contact with me since to check on how things were going. We’ve had our biggest days in our last weeks, which I attribute to this” Amanda said of her experience working with her Digital Solutions advisor.
Through the Digital Solutions program, Amanda now has more engagement on her social media pages, has learned about boosting posts and the importance of putting a face to her café for people to connect with.
On how the Digital Solutions program has impacted her goals, Amanda said: “We have had our busiest days, since March – we have tripled our takings. It was so busy that I even added on an extra staff member.”
